General Description
A Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) Technician inspects, tests, repairs, and calibrates safety relief valves to ensure compliance with ASME and API standards, preventing industrial system failures. Responsibilities include disassembly, machining, lapping, and pressure testing, both in shop and field environments, requiring mechanical proficiency, safety diligence, and meticulous documentation.

• Testing & Calibration: Using test benches to conduct hydrostatic or pneumatic tests to verify set pressure and seat tightness.
• Documentation: Accurately maintaining service reports, Valve Service History, and tagging documentation.
• Data Analysis & Documentation: Record maintenance activity in CMMS (e.g., SAP, PIMS), track equipment downtime, and analyzing failure modes to suggest improvements.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations (e.g., 5S principles, lockout/tagout) to ensure safe working, following OSHA regulations, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and company quality procedures.
