The Plant Associate/Dry Ice is responsible for performing a combination of job duties associated with the dry ice production business. The position will safely fill dry ice bins and support the overall responsibilities of the plant with high efficiency and accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Fill dry ice bins according to customer orders
  • Conduct proper bin sanitary procedures
  • Properly bar code and label bins in accordance with approved procedures
  • Perform routine maintenance on various production equipment
  • Maintain proper inventory of supplies to support dry ice production
  • Maintain cleanliness of plant to ensure safety of all employees, vendors and visitors

Other Responsibilities:
  • Complete proper paperwork according to department procedures
  • May perform cylinder maintenance (i.e. blast and paint cylinders, valve installation, etc.)
  • May support in filling cylinders with numerous gases such as Nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon, Helium, etc.
  • Complete cylinder paperwork according to shuttle deliveries
  • May assist drivers with loading and preparing orders for the day
  • Perform other job duties as assigned and fill in for other employees in their absence

Education, Experience and Skills:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Basic knowledge of gases, cryogenics, i.e. pressure and compatibility is preferred
  • Industry experience such as handling cylinders is desired
  • Certified forklift operator is a plus
  • Ability to make decisions based on facts and attain precise set limits
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and basic customer service experience
  • Must be organized, have good reasoning skills, math aptitude and time management skills

Equipment Used:
  • Safety gear such as steeled toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat/bump cap, required safety clothing, etc. when appropriate
  • Pelletizer and Block Press
  • Manual and automated band saw
  • Company provided plant equipment such as two-wheel dollies, liquid cart, scanner, air ratchet, scraper, paint sprayer, pumping rack, heat gun, hand trucks, chain hoist, wrenches, scales, spray washer, pressure gauges, gas metering devices, shot blaster, test equipment, etc.

Job Specifications/Requirements:
Ability to stand on your feet 7 to 8 hours a day with lots of walking, twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, grasping, sitting and repetitive motions. Ability to “walk” cylinders daily. Frequent lifting/carrying of 10-20lbs is required, may at times lift up to 75lbs. Reoccurring pushing/pulling of 75lbs. Ability to work indoor/outdoor in moderately warm or cold conditions where high noise levels are possible.
The pay rate for this position is $20/hour.
