Job description

Flowserve is seeking a technically driven and commercially minded Applications Engineer to support our Quick Response Center (QRC) network and Valve Automation Business. In this high-impact position, you will act as a core product specialist-translating complex customer and sales representative requirements into engineered control valve, actuator, and instrumentation solutions.

You will work closely with regional sales teams, engineering groups, and QRC operations to handle technical evaluation, sizing/selection, cost estimations, and complete order execution for critical severe-service process applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Sizing & Selection: Perform sizing, selection, and configuration of control valves, actuators, positioners, and associated automation accessories.

  • Proposal & Quotation Development: Evaluate customer inquiries and requests for quotes (RFQs) to generate complete technical and commercial proposals.

  • Sales & Rep Support: Serve as a dedicated technical sales support resource for regional sales representatives and key account clients.

  • Cost Estimation & Pricing: Calculate pricing based on product cost structures, manufacturing requirements, and market sourcing solutions.

  • Order Review & Execution: Conduct technical order acceptance, engineering verification, and complete order preparation for plant manufacturing.

What We're Looking For
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in control valves, automated valves, actuation systems, or flow control equipment.

  • Role Background: Prior experience as an Applications Engineer, Technical Inside Sales Representative, or Sales Support Engineer within flow control manufacturing or distribution.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with sizing/selection software configurators, ERP systems, and technical specification reviews.

  • Mobility: Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed for site visits and sales support.

Why Join Flowserve?
  • Multiple Location Options: Ability to sit out of our QRC facilities in Boothwyn(PA), Deer Park/Pasadena (TX), Baton Rouge (LA), or Imperial (PA).

  • Clear Career Progression: Enterprise growth opportunities across engineering, sales, and operations globally.

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health, vision, dental, robust 401(k) match, and paid time off starting on day one.
