Job description

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Value Stream Manager to lead end-to-end operational performance across a defined value stream. This leader will be responsible for aligning people, processes, materials, and resources to safely deliver high-quality products on time, while advancing continuous improvement, cost performance, and team capability.


The ideal candidate is a visible floor leader who combines strong operational discipline with a collaborative, data-driven approach to problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily execution across the value stream, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity goals are achieved.
  • Develop and coach frontline leaders and team members, building accountability, engagement, and technical capability.
  • Drive continuous-improvement initiatives using lean principles, root-cause analysis, standard work, visual management, and problem-solving tools.
  • Monitor operational performance through key metrics; identify gaps, establish corrective actions, and sustain improvements.
  • Partner with planning, supply chain, engineering, quality, maintenance, and other functions to remove barriers and improve flow.
  • Balance labor, capacity, materials, and production priorities to meet customer commitments.
  • Establish and maintain effective daily-management routines, including tiered meetings and escalation processes.
  • Support workforce planning, training, performance management, and succession development within the value stream.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, quality, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Lead change initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce waste, strengthen quality, and enhance the employee experience.
  • Prepare and communicate clear operational updates to senior leadership.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in an operations, production, or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and improving safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity performance.
  • Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving methods.
  • Experience with production planning, capacity management, labor utilization, and performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to influence across functions and lead through change.
  • Strong communication, coaching, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with common business systems and reporting tools.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous-improvement certification.
  • Experience managing a complex, high-volume, or multi-shift operation.
  • Experience implementing visual management systems, daily accountability routines, and standardized work.
  • Track record of developing high-performing supervisors and frontline teams.
