Valuation Internship information

What is a valuation internship?

A valuation internship is a temporary position, often for students or recent graduates, where you assist professionals in determining the value of companies, assets, or securities. Interns typically work with financial models, analyze market data, and prepare reports to support valuation opinions. This role provides hands-on experience in finance, accounting, and investment analysis, making it a common stepping stone into careers in investment banking, consulting, or corporate finance.

What types of projects or assignments can I expect during a valuation internship?

During a Valuation Internship, you can expect to work on projects such as financial statement analysis, building and updating valuation models, conducting industry and market research, and assisting in the preparation of client presentations or reports. Interns often collaborate closely with analysts, associates, and senior team members to support client engagements. You may also be asked to gather data on comparable companies and recent transactions, helping to build the foundation for valuation conclusions. This hands-on experience provides valuable exposure to real-world valuation methodologies and the opportunity to develop technical and analytical skills in a professional environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a valuation intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Valuation Intern, you need a solid grounding in finance, accounting, and quantitative analysis, typically supported by progress toward a relevant degree such as finance, economics, or accounting.
