Sounds Good? (We think so, too!) Here's what you would do:

  • Ensures all personal training clients have completed and submitted mandatory paperwork.
  • Ensures payment of required fees prior to personal training sessions.
  • Schedules personal training sessions with personal training clients.
  • Assists personal training clients to develop realistic personal health and wellness goals.
  • Designs personalized health and wellness programs for personal training clients and coaches them throughout their appointments.
  • Educates personal training clients with current information from research based sources.
  • Maintains client confidentiality at all times.
  • Initiates emergency procedures in case of an accident.
  • Attends scheduled meetings and trainings as required.
  • Performs other job-related duties as requested and necessary.

"Ok, I'm sold!" What do I need to qualify?

  • Two or more years of experience in the fitness field.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Current Personal Training Certification issued by a reputable nationally recognized organization such as YMCA of the USA, AAPTA, AFAA, ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA OR a degree in kinesiology or physical fitness. Certifications must be maintained and current at all times.
  • Current CPR, First Aid and AED certification issued by a nationally recognized sanctioning organization such as American Red Cross, American Heart Association or ASHI. Certifications must be current and maintained at all times.
  • Knowledgeable of health and wellness equipment and facilities available to YMCA members.
  • Knowledge of computer equipment and software available to YMCA members.
  • Excellent human relations and communications skills.
  • All required online training must be completed prior to beginning work, which will be compensated for accordingly.
  • Criminal record clearance.
