Wyyerd Fiber is seeking a highly organized, strategic, and results-driven Materials Management Manager to lead and optimize warehouse, yard, inventory, logistics, and materials management operations supporting fiber infrastructure construction, network operations, and customer installations. This leadership role is critical to ensuring the efficient planning, control, distribution, and accountability of materials and equipment required to support the continued expansion of one of the most advanced fiber-to-the-home/business networks in the market.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader with strong experience in materials management, supply chain operations, inventory control, logistics coordination, process optimization, and team leadership within a fast-paced construction and operations environment.

Position Summary

The Materials Management Manager is responsible for leading all warehouse, yard, inventory, and material logistics operations within the Southeast Valley Phoenix market. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across materials planning, inventory control, warehouse operations, contractor material management, and process standardization.

This position partners closely with Construction, Field Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and external contractors/vendors to ensure material availability, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and cost-effective support of network expansion and operational activities.

The Manager will focus on developing scalable processes, driving operational performance, improving inventory visibility, supporting forecasting and planning activities, and leading a culture centered on accountability, safety, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operational Management

  • Lead all daily warehouse, yard, inventory, and material distribution operations.
  • Supervise and develop warehouse/materials personnel while promoting accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
  • Establish operational priorities and ensure alignment with construction and install schedules, operational demands, and company objectives.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Construction, Field Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and leadership to support business growth initiatives.
  • Manage contractor and vendor interactions related to material deliveries, returns, staging, and inventory accountability.
  • Support development of scalable materials management processes to support continued market expansion.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

  • Oversee receiving, storage, issuance, transfers, returns, and disposal of materials and equipment.
  • Ensure accurate inventory transactions within ERP, inventory management, and tracking systems.
  • Develop and maintain inventory control programs including cycle counts, audits, reconciliations, and material traceability.
  • Monitor inventory levels, usage trends, and replenishment requirements to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
  • Ensure proper warehouse and yard organization for operational efficiency, safety, and accessibility.
  • Maintain asset accountability and support material loss prevention initiatives.
  • Drive inventory accuracy improvements and establish measurable inventory performance metrics.

Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Oversee material fulfillment and logistics coordination supporting construction, network operations, and customer installations.
  • Coordinate material staging, deliveries, transfers, and return activities across warehouse, yard, and contractors.
  • Support procurement and planning teams with material forecasting, demand planning, and supply chain coordination.
  • Monitor material flow to ensure efficient utilization of inventory and timely project support.

Process Improvement & Performance Management

  • Develop, standardize, and improve warehouse procedures, inventory controls, workflows, and reporting processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, optimize inventory investment, and enhance service levels.
  • Establish and maintain KPIs related to inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, operational productivity, material utilization, and service performance.
  • Utilize reporting and analytics to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on scalability, automation, and operational consistency.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and safety standards across warehouse and yard operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Ensure safe operation and maintenance of forklifts, vehicles, and warehouse equipment.
  • Support security, risk mitigation, and asset protection initiatives.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety and operational compliance throughout the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse operations, materials management, logistics, inventory control, or supply chain management in a high-volume operational environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems, inventory management systems, and materials tracking platforms.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace.
  • Experience developing inventory controls, operational procedures, and process improvements.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment. OSHA and/or forklift certification required.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 40 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in telecommunications, fiber optics, construction, utility, or infrastructure industries preferred.
  • Knowledge of telecom construction materials and outside plant (OSP) equipment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with barcode scanning systems, inventory analytics, and cycle count programs.
