The Job:

As a Testing & Prototype Technician you'll be part of our SWS Engineering team working as an onsite employee. You'll get to:

  • Executes product validation methodology to establish performance criteria and ensures all requirements are met.
  • Support prototype parts for validation purposes via machining and troubleshooting of designs.
  • Documentsall product validation thoroughly and accurately via DVF and DVP&Rs.
  • Ability to concisely communicate with design/engineering team feasibility and mark-ups/redlines.
  • Skilled in manual machine operation (vertical mill, lathe, surface grinding, etc.)
  • Skilled in operations, and maintenance of a Hass CNC 3-Axis mill
  • Ability to program utilizing MasterCAM
  • Skilled in MIG & TIG welding.
  • Understanding of GD&T, Engineering Change Notification, and ERP Systems.
  • Provides assistance to systems manufacturing and repair personnel for trouble-shooting malfunctions in drawn arc welding components and systems.
  • Supports and resolves field equipment performance problems.
  • Provides expert assistance to other areas as directed and performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Assists with critical projects and ensures timely completion.

The Person:

  • Associates Degree in Machine Tool Technology or Equivalent Experience.
  • Understanding of testing procedures and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with general engineering practices of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • UG or AutoCAD experience a plus
  • 3+years of machining experience utilizing mills, lathes, and hand held tools
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Experience in Automotive/Industrial industry preferred.
  • Experience with automation products, automated feeding, electro-mechanical products preferred.

The Salary range for this position is $44,300.00 - $71,300.00
