POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a cross-functional set of technical project execution activities. You will be responsible for developing solutions utilizing Pratt Miller's core competencies and capabilities to deliver exceptional value to our customers and create a competitive advantage for our robotic products.
Daily activities will include close collaboration with matrixed technical departments, Product Management and Program Management activities while leading the project technical teams through all aspects of platform design, subsystem design, technology integration, platform build, objective testing, and subjective evaluation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Execute projects by leading technical staff and managing technical deliverables
  • Lead projects with responsibility for technical approach and oversight, customer satisfaction, quality, timing, and profitability utilizing cross-functional resources and best practices
  • Coordinate planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of projects. Plan and formulate engineering programs, reviewing product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
  • Approve design changes and drawing releases. Coordinate activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test issues
  • Participate in developing engineering best practices and integrating their deployment throughout the organization
  • Identify risks to customer satisfaction and project deliverables, and develop action plans to mitigate
  • Support Program Managers in planning project financials, tracking costs, and ensuring target profitability

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • A systems integration approach to vehicle development including knowledge in a variety of automotive and defense sub-systems
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication of technical and programmatic data
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and competing requirements in the design space
  • A strong personal desire to always be the best, work with the best, and support the team

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or similar engineering education
  • 8+ years of engineering experience in defense, automotive, or aerospace industry
  • Broad experience with vehicle systems, to include Powertrain, Driveline, Electrical Systems, Control Systems, and Structures
  • Experience in prototype and low-volume manufacturing is a plus

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Travel may be required at different frequency depending on the program.

Pay Range:
$136,500.00 - $241,500.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
