Job Summary: 

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for leading and managing the housekeeping department to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are maintained. This position will provide oversight of guest rooms and public areas, and management of all housekeeping activities including budget reviews, ordering supplies, scheduling, staffing, contract staff management, room inspections, as well as training, disciplining, and developing seasonal and year-round employees.

  • Starting Wage: $29.00 - $32.00 /hr

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the day-to-day housekeeping operations including daily opening procedures and issuing staff assignments.
  • Lead a culture of safety within the housekeeping department.
  • Manage housekeeping inventory and complete timely procurement of supplies for the department.
  • Manage Laundry vendor.
  • Evaluate guest satisfaction levels and monitor trends through guest surveys and other means, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Operate within departmental budgets through effective stock and cost controls and well managed schedules.
  • Set departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, and ensure that company’s policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Conduct, direct, and participate in all departmental inventories; keep records of all inventories for future references.
  • Maintain good communication and work relationships within all departments within the property, and with external customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure staffing levels cover and are in line with business demands.
  • Manage staff performance issues in compliance with Vail Resorts policies and procedures.
  • Recruit, manage, train and develop the housekeeping team; conduct ongoing training for existing and new staff.
  • Maintain good communication and relationships with condo homeowners and respond to their requests promptly and professionally.
  • Be an active participant with Vail Resorts Housekeeping Best Practices Group.
  • Additional tasks as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Two years of housekeeping supervisor or management experience
  • Basic computer skills required, Microsoft Office proficiency preferred, ability to learn various software required.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within and outside housekeeping department.
  • Ability to creatively solve problems with guests, employees, and various other departments within the resort.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Conversational Spanish helpful

The expected pay range is $29.00 - $32.00 /hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
