Job description

The PBX/Switchboard Operator Promotes Customer satisfaction through competent professional practices and prompt response. The operator ensures all incoming and outgoing phone calls are received and processed in an efficient and courteous manner. Ensures that directories on phone extensions administration and employee phone numbers, doctor phone numbers and beeping numbers are current and distributed to the relief switchboard location.  Ensures lists are legible and organized in proper categories. Maintaining a high level of professionalism, working well with all hospital departments, patients, families of patients and physicians.  Provides nonmedical information but maintains strict confidentiality of patient and hospital information.  At all times ensures attention is given to accurate detail.
Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous PBX/Switchboard experience preferred. 
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Annual influenza vaccine required.
