Who you are

You are an experienced strategic professional with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for creating a seamless and exceptional guest experience. You understand the varied dynamics and requirements of successfully managing the lodging component of a resort and have a proven track record as a collaborative and skilled people manager and leader. You also haveโ€ฆ

  • a minimum of five years of experience in hotel/resort operations management at the assistant GM or director of operations/rooms level or a similar applicable role; prior management experience in the golf/resort industry and with vacation home rentals preferred
  • a bachelorโ€™s degree, ideally in lodging, hospitality management or similar, or equivalent applicable experience
  • budget development and management experience; knowledge of basic finance, accounting, cost control procedures, purchasing, inventory, compliance and recordkeeping requirements
  • proven ability to successfully lead, inspire, develop and motivate hospitality and operational team members
  • unparallel flexibility; stellar organizational skills, detail orientation and follow-through
  • exemplary communication and listening skills; excellent interpersonal abilities and conflict resolution skills
  • a demonstrated ability to work well as a leader and a member of a team; ability to communicate effectively with all position levels within an organization
  • the ability to work a varied schedule, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as business needs dictate

What youโ€™ll do
  • Work collaboratively with all departments to assure excellence in all aspects of the Tetherow experience, and to advance the goals and objectives of Tetherow Resort
  • In partnership with Tetherow leadership, strive to maximize utilization and rate in the lodges and event pavilion
  • Ensure seamless guest service from check-in to check-out for both hotel and vacation rentals
  • Build, develop and maintain effective working relationships with existing department leaders and teams, as well as third party vendors
  • Initiate and implement marketing and up-selling techniques to promote resort services and facilities to maximize room occupancy and overall revenue
  • Monitor actual and projected sales to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded and opportunities are identified and addressed
  • Identify opportunities to increase profits and create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation, and driving necessary change
  • Maintain consistent communication with management/leadership as requested and as appropriate to apprise them of information relevant to operations of the resort
  • Manage and/or guide the career progression, learning, development and retention of direct report team members in guest services, housekeeping, sales, property maintenance and vacation rentals
  • Spearhead projects, programs and initiatives suggested by the Tetherow Executive Board, refining existing programs to achieve targets
  • Identify and evaluate operational protocols for front-of-house operations to ensure efficiencies and best practices are being met; monitor and ensure lodging infrastructure is maintained at a top level at all times
  • Enforce, and ensure facility policies and procedures are applied in an equal and fair manner for all employees, members, and guests; oversee and assure compliance with all appropriate regulations, state and federal laws, specific county resort laws and regulations, and health and safety standards
  • Build and develop positive relationships with vacation home owners, and liaise with the Membership team to develop programs and opportunities for member engagement with hospitality offerings
