Job description

Vacation Rental Maintenance Technician

Location: Lake of the Ozarks – Bagnell Dam Area

Employment Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Pay: $20–$22/hour | 32–40 hours/week

Schedule: Thursday–Monday, approximately 9:00 AM–4:30 PM

A leading Real Estate & Property Development Company, is looking for a hands-on Vacation Rental Maintenance Technician to help keep a portfolio of vacation rental properties safe, functional, and guest-ready. If you like staying busy, working with your hands, troubleshooting problems, and taking pride in properties you can call your own, this could be a great fit.

This is a full-time, year-round opportunity offering consistent hours, benefits, and plenty of variety.

A Schedule with Flexibility

The anticipated schedule is Thursday–Monday, approximately 9:00 AM–4:30 PM, generally 32–40 hours per week. For the right person, there may be flexibility around the exact daytime hours or days worked. A four 10-hour-day schedule may also be an option. This position participates in an on-call rotation approximately every second or third week, rather than carrying the on-call responsibility every week.

What Makes This Role Different

You'll have a defined group of vacation rentals (Airbnb-style cabins/properties) that you'll get to know well. Rather than waiting for things to break, you'll regularly inspect the properties, complete preventative maintenance, make repairs, and make sure they're ready for guests.

And because vacation rentals aren't always available to work in, there's still plenty to do when the cabins are occupied. When your vacation rental work is caught up, you'll join the rest of the maintenance team on residential and commercial properties, turnovers, preventative maintenance, renovations, and improvement projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and complete general repairs involving appliances, HVAC, plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, locks, fixtures, painting, and general property maintenance.
  • Identify maintenance and safety concerns before they become larger problems.
  • Make sure vacation rentals are maintained and ready for incoming guests.
  • Complete routine upkeep such as filters, batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, and seasonal maintenance.
  • Help maintain outdoor areas and amenities including decks, patios, docks, grills, fire pits, and outdoor furniture.
  • Keep company tools, supplies, and work vehicle organized.
  • Document completed work and communicate larger repair needs to the Maintenance Field Supervisor.
  • Support the broader maintenance team as needed.

You Could Be a Great Fit If You Have:

  • 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, ideally in general property maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, appliances, plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot a variety of maintenance issues.
  • The ability to work independently, manage daily priorities, and take ownership of your assigned properties.
  • A proactive mindset—you notice what needs attention and take pride in getting it taken care of.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfort using a smartphone or maintenance software to receive assignments and document work.
  • A valid driver's license and driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background and criminal history screening.
  • Knowledge of building and fire codes is a plus.

Benefits & Perks

  • $20–$22/hour
  • 32–40 hours per week
  • Health insurance
  • Paid vacation
  • Company-provided work truck
  • Tools and uniforms
  • Full-time, year-round employment
