General Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

The General Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the retail shop operates in accordance with the company's principles, systems, and standards. They will oversee all aspects of shop operations, including hiring and managing staff, fostering positive team culture, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. The General Manager will drive business growth through meeting Key Business Indicators and achieving sales goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB TASKS

Oversight of assigned retail location. Tasks may include:

  • Supervise and manage the operations of the retail shop.
  • Ensure the retail location meets KPI's.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve sales and guest satisfaction.
  • Coordinates the hiring, onboarding, and training of team members.
  • Motivates team on sales opportunity and achieves sales goals
  • Ensures the training program is being implemented and develops knowledgeable team members.
  • Administers Payroll and Tips; manages deposits.
  • Responsible for team scheduling, Performance Evaluations, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Provide excellent guest service to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Collaborate with other departments and management to ensure the success of the business.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of product, industry trends, and guest preferences; identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Communicates to staff pertinent information regarding shop involvement, promotions, changes in systems or processes.
  • Ensures Health standards, procedures, and systems are in place and being followed; assists in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety
  • Establishes, maintains, and promotes culture and company brand requirements.
  • Maintains the general upkeep and cleanliness of the shop including stocking of merchandise, updating display information and product, and presenting the integrity of the brand through presentation of product.

GUEST SERVICE/INTERACTION: Daily face-to-face, phone and email interaction with guests and support staff throughout the organization. Frequent face-to-face interaction with management to exchange information and complete work tasks. This position has direct interaction with guests, so proper tone of voice, body language, and volume are required in this environment.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

  • College degree preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • A minimum of 3 years work experience in retail environment, preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years supervisory or management experience, preferred

PHYSICAL:

  • Requires regular bending, stooping and twisting, and the ability to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in close quarters with others. Must be able to visualize the computer screen and perform data entry.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Standing and moving about is required the majority of time
  • Requires the ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Requires the flexibility to work extending hours or shifts for peak seasons
