VA School Certifying Officials (SCOs) are staff members at educational institutions who are responsible for assisting students using VA education benefits, such as the GI Bill. They certify student enrollment, report changes in enrollment status, and act as liaisons between the school and the Department of Veterans Affairs. SCOs ensure that student veterans receive their benefits accurately and on time, and provide guidance on eligibility and required documentation.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a VA School Certifying Official?

To thrive as a VA School Certifying Official, you need a solid understanding of veterans' education benefits, federal regulations, and institutional policies, often supported by relevant training or education in higher education administration.
