Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 48 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience.

• Travel experience is required within the last 5 years.

• 3 months of Epic experience is preferred.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• BSN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <75 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - Travel nursing for 1 year or less in the past 5 years. - Minimum 4 years recent ICU experience. - Minimum 2.5 years of recent adult medical/surgical critical care RN experience. - ECMO experience within the last 6 months to 1 year. - Must have experience with ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD, CRRT, and PA catheter. - Experience caring for ECMO patients as a bedside RN. - Experience caring for ECMO as primary responsibility without dedicated bedside perfusion support. - Ability to independently manage complex critical care patients. - CVICU/CTICU/CCU experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Teaching hospital experience is preferred. - Variety in critical care experience preferred: med/surg, cardiac, neuro. - Recent Float Pool, PACU, or Emergency Room experience preferred, not required. - Preferred experience includes VA ECMO, VV ECMO, V-PA ECMO, heart failure/cardiogenic shock, prostacyclin therapies, cardiothoracic surgery recovery, heart transplant recovery, lung transplant recovery, heart transplant, lung transplant, bridge to transplant, and simultaneous management of multiple support devices (e.g. ECMO + CRRT, ECMO + Impella, ECMO + IABP).

Required Credentials: - If CA state licensure is 3 months or less from expiration, proof that the renewal process has been initiated is required to apply.

Special Requests: - An interview may not be given prior to an offer being made. - Please submit all RTO at time of offer. RTO sent after contract is signed will not be considered. - RTO time must be added back to the end of the contract. - You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Unit Details: - Adult and geriatric patient population.

Shift & Scheduling: - 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; day 07:00-19:30 and night 19:00-07:30. - One 4-week schedule cycle will be either shift, but may switch to the opposite shift in another schedule cycle depending on need.

Floating Requirements: - This is a float pool position, not unit based. - Must have the ability to float to other UCSF facilities, departments, and campuses, including Parnassus, Mission Bay, and Mount Zion. - ICU RNs float to all TCUs and ICUs, ED, and PACU. - May float to Acute Care/Tele/TCU units with up to 3:1 assignment, and may also be assigned to ED for boarded patients or PACU for boarded patients.

Details:

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
