About The Team

The UX Research team includes customers in the development process from early discovery through post-launch. We work with multiple stakeholder teams across the lifecycle to ensure the customer experience is very well balanced with product monetization.

About The Role

Roku is looking for a Researcher to primarily work on customer sentiment surveys conducted in conjunction with product A/B tests, as well as other quantitative research tasks. This role requires collaboration with multiple cross-functional partners, including Product Management, Data Analytics, Engineering, Design, and other researchers. This role provides the opportunity to work on projects that will be seen and enjoyed by millions of customers in a capacity that supports major decision-making on new products and features.

For Massachusetts Only - The estimated annual base salary for this position is between $90,000 - $120,000 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off. 

What You'll Be Doing
  • Developing, planning, andexecuting research initiativesto understand what impacts product and feature sentiment, most often in the context of experimental A/B tests
  • Being an active collaborator on the design of experimental A/B tests
  • Working closely with a wide variety of Product Managers, Data Analysts, and others toidentifythe problems and business goals that your research will address
  • Collecting and analyzing user sentiment through surveys, and working with others to combine these findings with behavioral data, to inform product decisions
  • Effectively present research insights to diverse stakeholder audiences through written reports and live presentations
  • Understand and confidently communicate the strengths and weaknesses of different experimental designs, different research approaches, and the findings of your research studies
  • Optimize and automate repetitive research processes to drive efficiency and scale the sentiment survey program
  • Additionally, conduct other quantitative research to help Roku better understand the needs, pain points, and experience of customers (potentially involving ongoing tracker surveys)
  • Collaborate with fellow world-class user researchersinternationally and the Director of UX Research

We're Excited If You Have
  • Proven skills with survey design, quantitative analysis, and experimental designs
  • Experience building with AI (Claude Code, CoPilot, or similar)
  • Ability to effectively work with the wider business at Roku, such as data analysts and other UX researchers, to incorporate their data into cross-functional reporting and recommendations
  • Confidence to make recommendations to experiments being run by others
  • Strong communication,presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Persuasive presentation skills, reporting both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to define, plan, and execute projectsacross a wide range of product areas
  • Ability to support timely communication and connection across multiple time zones
  • Ability to leverage AI to streamline research processes and deliverables
  • A passion for researching and understanding people
  • 2-3 years of expertise as a consumer researcher in an industry setting
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in related fields, such as Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Market Research

  • Experience with more advanced survey/analysis techniques, such as MaxDiff, Conjoint, etc.
  • Experience with qualitative UX research methods, allowing you to work on other project types as needed
