Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital position requiring 2 years of acute medical Care Management/Discharge Planning experience and a CA RN license.
Job Details
• Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management department,
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM,
• Patient ratio of 1:25 during day shifts,
• Weekend requirement of typically one full weekend every 4 weeks, subject to department need,
• No floating required,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• 13-week assignment length,
Job Requirements
• Active CA RN license required, pending license accepted if licensed by start date,
• BLS certification required,
• Minimum 2 years of acute medical Care Manager experience performing Care Coordination and Discharge Planning,
• Epic charting system experience required,
• Prior travel nursing experience required, though first-time travelers may be considered with screening,
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required,
Additional Information
• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME ordering, and disease management,
• Knowledge of CMS, CPT coding, DRG, and HIPAA regulatory guidelines required,
• Experience across acute hospital specialties including ICU, Medical-Surgical, and SDU/PCU/IMC/Observation units,
• Business attire or scrubs acceptable dress code,
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day,
• RTO requests should not exceed 7 days to avoid delays in the offer process,
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate,
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility,
• First-time travelers will be considered but must undergo additional screening
