Clinical Manager

Reports To: Clinical Director

Purpose:To provide clinical and administrative supervision and leadership and to serve as a qualified practitioner to assigned team and support the clinic as a whole.

Qualifications:A Clinical Manager must possess a master's degree in social work or counseling. The manager must have sufficient individual competence, professional qualifications and experience to provide supervision, service coordination; crisis assessment and intervention and management; symptom assessment and diagnosis; individual counseling and psychotherapy; administration, monitoring and documentation. Preferred Licensure: LGPC, LGSW, LMFT, LPC, LICSW, RN, APRN.

General Responsibilities:The Clinical Manager is responsible for clinical and administrative supervision and leadership including, but not limited to:

  • Direct supervision and oversight of assigned community support workers and therapist and/or specialty program
  • Practice as a clinician on the Mental Health Rehabilitation Services (MHRS) and making sure that treatment plan authorizations and reauthorizations, CALOCUS/LOCUS, DLA-20 and updated diagnostic assessments and all other assessments are current and DO NOT expire
  • Serve as an intricate member of the SLS team to ensure continuity of care and supports the services 24 hours a day, seven days per week as necessary

Ensure your team is only providing medically necessary interventions and services

Provides field observation monthly to team to support growth and ensure clinical care and goals are being met

  • Able to provide training and support on person-centered, strengths based and focused interventions that address the functional problems associated with the most complex and/or pervasive conditions of the identified population that will increase the recipient's ability to cope and relate to others and enhancing the highest level of functioning in the community.
  • Ensure that the majority of mental health services are primarily rendered in the community and ensure that limited services remain clinic based.
  • Oversight and active participation in the providing crisis response as needed by mental health recipients.
  • Ensure that progress notes are reviewed, corrected and approved in a timely manner and be mindful of the payroll cutoffs
  • Maintain clear and consistent supervision/field observation documentation and be prepared to give constructive feedback on team's job performance evaluations
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate staff meetings and trainings
  • Ensure incident reports are prepared and submitted on time and manage utilization review of CS staff
  • Random audit check community support service notes and ensure timeliness of submission and accuracy.
  • Work collaboratively with and provide ongoing updates to the Clinical Director, Medical Director and the Psychiatric med/som team
  • Identify, establish, and continually collaborate with community agencies, providers, and natural supports and advise team to make referrals as needed
  • Provide learning opportunities, information, and resources to staff on how to accomplish goals in new, different and challenging ways.
  • Listen/respond to; interact with clients, co-workers, management, and other professionals in a non-judgmental manner.
  • Communicate objectively, thoroughly, accurately, concisely in a manner consistent with the cognitive level of the persons involved.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of the organizational mission and shared purpose to assist individuals by providing quality services.
  • Participate in efforts to enhance service provision to consumers.
  • Act and interact to build cohesiveness.
  • Assist with building a positive image for the agency by demonstrating support and cooperation with other units and community agencies.
  • Demonstrate professional work ethics as evidenced by overall dependability, conscientiousness, and timeliness.
  • Participates in the afterhours on-call rotation
  • Other duties as assigned
