Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. Central Florida Behavioral Hospital offers a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents and adults; and partial hospitalization, intensive out-patient and ECT services for adults. Our treatment philosophy is based on a team approach that treats patients with dignity and respect, while delivering high-quality care.

Position Summary
The Utilization Review Coordinator performs admission and concurrent review of patients. Assures optimum quality of patient care in the most cost-effective manner. Works closely with the Physicians and the Social Services department to ensure quality of documentation of patient care. Completes Medicare B-Tag audits.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Psychosocial assessment of newly admitted patients
  • Developing an update or detailed re-assessment of the patient
  • High-social risk case finding
  • Contact with family and others significant in the patient's life
  • Patient and family education
  • Support and advocacy
  • Coordination/liaison with community-based social and mental health agency(ies) regarding the pre-admission status of the patient
  • Member of the treatment team in development of treatment planning and subsequent planned interventions.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or other related field. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in chart analysis and utilization review in the psychiatric and chemical dependency filed preferred.
  • Valid FL license, e.g., RN, LSCW, LMHC or LMFT preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills required to communicate in a clear and concise manner with patients, physicians, staff and administration.
  • Stable emotional makeup required to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
