Summary/Job Scope:

The Utility Operator performs routine and extensive preventive maintenance and repair procedures on Production Plant and Rolling stock.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform minor and major repairs of all Plant and Rolling Stock
  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures on plant equipment on a scheduled basis; inspect belts, check fluid levels, replace screen media, grease bearings, seals, repair or replaces broken parts.
  • Maintains a clean environment around plant area and all aspects of the property.  Housekeeping.
  • Operate various machines from time to time.
  • Inspects condition and operation of plant equipment and performs necessary repairs and adjustments.
  • Adheres to all safety, environmental and company policies and procedures in completing daily tasks including MSHA and OSHA Compliance.
  • Note: This job description may not cover all duties and requirements and may include additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to follow instructions and able to work on their own as well with others.
  • Experience within the mining industry is a plus.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift at least 50lbs +
  • Able to climb stairs, steps, and ladders
  • Ability to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions.
