Job description

Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule

Position available with the Water Department, Water Supply & Treatment Division located at 1 NW Briarcliff Rd
Salary Range: $7,413-$11,120/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Thursday, 6:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Application Deadline Date: September 4, 2026

Responsibilities
  • Supervises and participates in a wide variety of Distribution and Operational coordination between internal and external customers.
  • Maintains considerable familiarity with plant operational practices.
  • Instructs subordinates in the more difficult phases of the work and participation in the form of work orders or complaints.
  • Determines work methods, procedures, chemical ordering and project coordination related to plant functions.
Qualifications

REQUIRES:

  • High school graduation and 6 years experience in building or water/wastewater utility construction, maintenance, repair, alteration, and cleaning work, including 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Must possess a valid State issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
  • May be required to possess at least one of the certifications listed below within 6 months of moving into this job classification in accordance with state regulations: Distribution System Level III (DS-III) License with the State of Missouri; Wastewater Collections system level A certification with the State of Missouri; Level A operator certification in water or wastewater issued by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Approved third party certification maintenance operations including: HVAC, welding, plumbing, electrical, machinist, mechanic etc.; Meter Testing or Repair Certification.
  • Preference given to candidates who possess a Missouri A-Level Drink Water and a DS-III License.
