Multifamily Solar Project Manager

Salary Range: $72,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

Location: California (Hybrid / Field + Wildomar, CA Office)

Job Summary

Solara / MARS Builder Solutions is seeking a Project Manager to lead multifamily solar projects within our new construction division. This role manages projects from preconstruction through PTO and closeout, ensuring alignment across design, permitting, utility coordination, and construction execution.

The Project Manager owns schedule, budget, and scope while coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, including builders, developers, general contractors, and utilities. This is a handsโ€‘on role requiring the ability to interpret plans, navigate California solar programs, and proactively drive projects forward in a fastโ€‘paced environment.

Main Duties
  • Manage multifamily solar projects from design through installation and PTO
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and execution plans
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and field teams
  • Serve as the main point of contact for builders, developers, and GCs
  • Review plan sets to confirm scope, constructability, and compliance
  • Support preconstruction and value engineering efforts
  • Manage utility interconnections (NEM, VNEM, NBTV, NBTA)
  • Identify interconnection strategies and system requirements
  • Support field teams and conduct site visits as needed
  • Maintain project documentation (RFIs, submittals, change orders, closeout)
  • Track project financials, forecasting, and billing
  • Support prevailing wage compliance and contractor coordination
Required Education & Experience
  • 3โ€“7+ years of project management experience in solar, electrical, or construction
  • Experience with multifamily or light commercial solar projects in California preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction documents and workflows
  • Familiarity with Title 24 (T24) and California solar programs
  • Experience with solar PV and energy storage systems (ESS) preferred
