NV5 is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Americas Mission Critical team and service our clients nationally as needs dictate. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and well versed in commissioning, project management, facility engineering, construction, and operations. The market served will include mission critical. Duties and responsibilities related to this position are listed below.
Oversees one or more large-sized and complex projects. Projects generally have multiple disciplines, may have sub-consultants, and require a high level of project management experience. Responsible for the overall supervision of projects which are assigned to ensure that the project conforms to the contractual agreement the firm has made with the client.
Responsibilities
  • Prepares the contractual agreement with the client for review and signature by NV5 staff based on the commitment authority matrix.
  • Responsible for the development of tasks to define project work scope, budgets, and schedules.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and quality of all technical work
  • Monitors project tasks to maintain budget, schedule, and scope of work.
  • Requests and obtains approval of additional services before performing services beyond the scope of work.
  • Prepares periodic (monthly, quarterly, etc.) status reports to be issued to the client and/or for use by a Market Leader.
  • Participates in presentations to clients.
  • Follows-up on outstanding invoices.
  • Coordinates and tracks project deliverables in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Maintains project electronic files.
  • Responsible for client communications.
  • Responsible for invoices including preliminary review of pre-bills.
  • Edits or reviews technical content prepared by others for reports or other deliverables.
  • Responsible for all written work submitted to the client.
  • Ensures proposals are prepared in a timely manner and submitted to the client.
  • Maintains client management to retain client and obtain future projects from client.
  • Attends client meetings.
  • May be required to take over responsibility or provide guidance to other project managers for at risk projects.
  • Responsible for training, evaluating and maintaining project management standards.
  • Understands basic revenue models, and percent complete projections and makes decisions accordingly.
  • Works within, and understands, our pricing model and billing procedures.
  • Accurately forecasts revenue, profitability, margins, and utilization.
  • Conducts monthly revenue reviews of the project financials with the team and with senior leadership.
  • Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.
  • Holds regular status meetings with project team.
  • Keeps project team well informed of changes within the organization.
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion

Qualifications
• Recommended 10-15 years of progressive Project Management experience or an equivalent combination of combination of consulting engineering experience and project management experience (with a minimum of seven years of project management experience).
Or
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Construction Management from an accredited University with a minimum of five to eight years' experience or vocational technical degree with at least 11 years' experience.
• Must have general understanding of design or commissioning project requirements.
• Must have the ability to utilize computer systems (Vision) to effectively manage projects.
• Recommended to have a general understanding of CAD/BIM operations.
• Must be capable of managing multiple projects and project teams.
• Must have developed the following skills: communications, decision making, job knowledge, judgment, planning and organization, leadership and problem solving.
• Must be able to communicate with a variety of individuals; must be able to follow verbal and written instructions / directions and respond to inquiries.
• Must be able to work-sites as needed or required.
• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Professional Activities :
Must be at least a member and on a committee of (1) trade specific organization (ASHRAE, ASPE, AIA, etc).
