Job description

Power Delivery Project Engineer - (193743)

In this role, you’ll lead electric utility projects across Hawaii, owning projects end-to-end, working directly with clients and utilities, and helping solve the unique challenges of islanded power systems.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead delivery of electric utility projects, guiding overhead and underground design from planning through construction.
  • Own project performance – scope, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction.
  • Manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams in a high‑performing environment.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with utilities, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Drive technical quality through QA/QC and adherence to standards.
  • Lead design reviews, stakeholder meetings, and presentations.
  • Manage change processes, permitting, and regulatory approvals.
  • Support construction through field engagement and issue resolution.
  • Continuously improve project delivery through lessons learned and feedback.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
  • Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (e.g., PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to being an active participant of the employee‑owned culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in power delivery/project execution.
  • Prior experience with an engineering consulting firm.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage client relationships.
  • Experience in power delivery, utility engineering, or related infrastructure.
  • Strong project management and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of utility standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
