Summary

SRP is looking to hire College Interns, pursuing engineering degrees.

This internship offers valuable hands-on experience and exposure to the power utility industry, with a focus on the Distribution Planning team. This team is responsible for planning and maintaining SRPโ€™s power distribution system to ensure the infrastructure meets the needs of a growing and evolving customer base in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner.

The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the departmentโ€™s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.

What You'll Do

ย  ย  โ€ข Assist engineers with analyzing distribution interconnection requests and studies.
ย  ย  โ€ข Monitor and analyze trends, municipal changes, and other activities affecting our distribution service territory.ย 
ย  ย  โ€ข Support research, data collection, and analysis related to distribution planning studies.ย 
ย  ย  โ€ข Participate in forecasting and demand planning activities.
ย  ย  โ€ข Help prepare reports and presentations for leadership review.
ย  ย  โ€ข Contribute to process improvement initiatives and documentation.
ย  ย  โ€ข Attend team meetings and gain exposure to strategic planning discussions.

Education
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
College level coursework (100+) related to the position from an accredited institution is preferred.
Experience

Experience with Power BI, Python, or planning tools and software, are not required but nice to have.

Additional Requirements and Qualifications
  • College level coursework (100 or higher) from an accredited institution is preferred.
    • Management will evaluate college-level coursework individually to determine if it is applicable to the position and relevant to the required skills.
  • Knowledge such as accounting, general administrative principles, communications, marketing, personnel, finance, training, business and other non-scientific fields.

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
