Job description

Front End Loader Operator

DNT Construction is now hiring several Front End Loader Operators for our Austin Wet Utilities Austin area projects! The Wet Utilities Department supports the underground utility systems by properly backfilling and compacting trenches after pipe installation. To be considered for the role, you must:

  • Have at least 1 year of experience operating a front-end loader in utility or heavy civil construction.
  • Familiarity with material placement for underground utilities, including bedding and cover.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Compensation is commensurate with experience. A work week averages 40 to 60 hours. This job is labor-intensive, and you will be working outside! What We Offer:

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a front-end loader to dump gravel trucks and record trucking tickets
  • Haul gravel from on-site stockpiles to the trench as needed for bedding and cover
  • Place gravel bedding into the trench ahead of pipe installation, ensuring proper depth and alignment
  • Carefully dump gravel over installed pipe according to project specifications
  • Load and unload pipe from delivery trucks safely and efficiently using appropriate handling techniques
  • Communicate with ground crews and drivers to maintain a safe and organized job site
  • Perform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure safe operation
