Description Full Salary Ranges: Apprentice Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator: $19.74 - $29.61 hourly Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator I: $21.12 - $31.67 hourly Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator II: $22.61 - $33.91 hourly Under supervision of the Water Distribution and WW Collection Lead Operator, the Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator is responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and manual work involved in the maintenance, installation, and repair of the water distribution and wastewater collections systems. Principal Duties Apprentice Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator The Apprentice Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator is the entry level class. Under direct supervision of the Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator, incumbents learn to perform semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repairs on the water distribution and wastewater collection systems

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES Learn, assist with, and perform under supervision, the maintenance and repairs of water distribution lines, wastewater collection lines, manholes, meters and related infrastructure. Learn, assist with, and perform under supervision, preventative maintenance and emergency operations of the wastewater collection line to include but not limited to, identifying system defects and structural failure, and working with cleaning and inspection equipment as necessary. Learn, assist with, and perform under supervision, the installation of water sewer service connections.

Perform maintenance of utility easements and rights of way, as well as, maintenance of vehicles, equipment, tools and facilities. Generate and complete work orders utilizing computerized maintenance system and perform other related duties as assigned. Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator I / II This class is distinguished from the Apprentice level in that the latter is competent to perform the full range of skilled duties as well as supervise/oversee the work of the Apprentice Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator.

The Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator I/II have completed the entry level of training and experience, have obtained the required license and certifications, and is fully qualified to perform and oversee a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work in the operation, maintenance and repair of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems. The Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator I/II oversees, trains and supervises the work activities of the Apprentice position. PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES Oversee, participate in, and perform maintenance and repairs of water distribution lines, wastewater collection lines, manholes, meters and related infrastructure.

Oversee, participate in, and perform preventative maintenance and emergency operations of the wastewater collection line to include but not limited to, identifying system defects and structural failure, and working with cleaning and inspection equipment as necessary. Oversee, participate in, and perform the installation of water sewer service connections. Perform maintenance of utility easements and rights of way, as well as, maintenance of vehicles, equipment, tools and facilities.

Generate and complete work orders utilizing computerized maintenance system and perform other related duties as assigned. Assist Crew Leader in training the Apprentice Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator and perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Apprentice Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator: Required: High school diploma or G.E.D

equivalent. Texas Class B CDL with a tanker and air brake endorsement, or the ability to obtain within 90 days from date of hire, and ability to maintain. Available for emergency response.

Ability to perform essential duties in an environment that entails a variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures; frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing/pulling; and exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals in a potentially hazardous work area and environmental conditions. Additional requirements for Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator I: Required: Six (6) month to one (1) year experience. Texas Class B CDL with a tanker and air brake endorsement and ability to maintain.

Class D Water License from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Class I Wastewater Collection License from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Additional requirements for Water Distribution and WW Collection Operator II: Required: Two (2) years experience.

Texas Class A CDL with a tanker and air brake endorsement and ability to maintain. Class D Water License from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Class I Wastewater Collection License from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

Preferred: Knowledge of utility construction and maintenance. Knowledge of basic mathematics, biology, and chemistry. All license and/or certifications are required to be maintained and/or upgraded (if applicable) as required by State Law.
