Reports To: Utility Metering SupervisorEmployment Type: Full-TimeJob SummaryDalton Utilities is seeking a Service Tech to perform maintenance and repair services on water, gas, and electric metering devices and systems. This position supports daily field operations by maintaining utility services, conducting inspections, responding to customer service requests, and ensuring accurate meter functionality.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance and repairs on gas, water, and electric meters and related devices.Conduct pressure checks and turn utility services on and off as required.Block and unblock gas, water, and electric services as needed and install new meters when necessary.Obtain check readings on services as requested by the Customer Service Department.Inspect for unauthorized meter turn-ons.Repair leaks at water meters.Perform water, gas, and electric meter change-outs as required.Conduct water pressure checks for customers.Stock service vehicles with materials and supplies needed for daily operations and retrieve meter boxes and lids from the supply yard.Assist gas crews with restoring gas services, lighting pilots, and other related activities as needed.Complete daily service logs and maintain accurate records.Safely operate vehicles, machinery, and tools including pickup trucks, radios, meter detectors, hand tools, mechanic tools, and piping tools.Participate in stand-by rotations and be available to work after hours and weekends as needed.Physical RequirementsFull dexterity of hands.Ability to operate equipment and drive a truck.Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 90 pounds.Ability to lift and move pumps.Ability to enter confined spaces.Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.Shift and Scheduling:This position is regular hours 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday

This position is also required to be available for stand-by duties, off hours and weekends.Pay Range:$17.85 $27.60/hour (Range includes Levels 2 1)
