Role Summary

Boswell is seeking a Project Manager to lead and support substation and transmission line projects ranging from equipment replacements to full-scale infrastructure builds and upgrades. This role oversees project execution, coordinates with clients and teams, and ensures compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures while managing projects of varying complexity within power and utilities sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project managers are assigned projects that range from replacing a breaker at a substation to building an entire new substation and/or relocating or upgrading transmission lines (preferred experience up to and exceeding 500kV).
  • Typical substation projects may be breaker replacement, cap bank heaters, bus work, transformer replacement, control house rehab or replacement, extending a substation yard, or a new substation
  • Typical transmission projects may include replacing insulators, replacing the OPGW, adding circuits, or a new transmission line
  • Project managers may also be assigned transmission line routing studies
  • Client will provide all of the necessary training for both the project management system that is utilized and all of the mandated client safety training and FERC training
  • Adhere to internal standards, policies and procedures

Qualifications & Skills

  • BS Degree in Engineering is preferred
  • Formal project management training is required with PMP Certification highly preferred.
  • An absolute minimum of three (3) years of Utilities project management experience in managing medium to high to extra high voltage substation and/or transmission line projects is required but Project Engineers who work closely with PM's with 5+ years of similar project oversight are highly valued.
