Position Summary
McCormick Taylor is seeking a Project Manager with Environmental and/or Site Permitting experience to join our Energy/Utilities group. We are seeking an individual who can lead a small team to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well in a hybrid office environment. Strong written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required. Previous experience collaborating with team members virtually is preferred. Note that this a hybrid position, but the candidate will be expected to report to McCormick Taylor's office in Baltimore, MD.
The candidate will be responsible for leading the permit application development and agency coordination processes associated with energy infrastructure projects within the Mid-Atlantic region. Prior experience in site and/or environmental permitting is preferred. Prior experience with electric/gas utilities and financial forecasting is preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Enthusiastic and dependable leader with a passion for growth
  • Manage and mentors a small number of staff (1 - 3)
  • Manage the scope, schedule and budget of several small to medium projects and/or larger tasks of a project
  • Attend project meetings and support presentations on specific projects/concepts
  • Liaison between the Client/Owner Project Team and McCormick Taylor
  • Oversee the production of plans and permit documents that utilize CADD (Bentley Microstation), ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office for project data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Initiate and document the QA/QC of all deliverables
  • With supervision, assist in preparation of scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
  • Provide input on invoices, status reports, accruals and forecasts
  • Resource Planning for the projects which you manage

Job Requirements
Qualifications
  • B.S. of Environmental Science or Engineering
  • 8 - 15 years of experience preferred.
  • Technical and field experience preferred in energy-utility infrastructure preferred
  • Knowledge of local environmental regulations preferred (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Strong interest and ability to mentor and teach others about their respective discipline
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and develop site plans and permits
  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments
