Job description

This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' Actors are support, entry level, individual contributors that play the role of an individual who is interested in learning more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Missionaries may teach you several times, depending on the language, and you will progress through this process. Primarily, Actors should be focused on providing realistic, positive experiences for missionaries to apply their purpose and evaluate their teaching skills. Applicants of all language abilities are encouraged to apply.

Missionary training centers (MTCs) help missionaries understand, live, and apply the missionary purpose as stated on page one of Preach My Gospel: A Guide to Missionary Service. Missionaries learn and teach the doctrine of Christ from the Book of Mormon. They learn how to be more effective teachers by studying and practicing the principles in Preach My Gospel. They also learn how to adjust to missionary life and how to live missionary standards. Missionaries who are assigned to learn a mission language will also begin learning this language in the MTC.

Required:
Desires to meet with missionaries and a love for missionary work.
Fluency in specified foreign language is required for language positions
Communicates quickly and effectively.
Ability to play role and remain in character
Self-motivated and proactive with time.
Willing to receive feedback and make improvements as needed.
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using monitors/equipment.


Preferred:
Experience in a role-playing position

Reports to supervisor level in Training Department
Plays the role of a individual who is not a member of and is interested in learning about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Meets with multiple companionships of missionaries several days a week according to a preset schedule.
Takes notes and evaluation surveys after each missionary visit
Participates in training and development activities to enhance skills as a 
Makes and keeps commitments as the Spirit directs.
Stays in character at all times on the MTC campus.
Resets each week with new missionaries without falling into a routine.
May take on responsibilities as an MTC Teacher or Language Tutor, as hours allow
May be asked to assist in assessing the proficiency level of missionaries and teacher applicants in the target language.
May include other temporary assigned duties at the MTC (e.g. assisting with Mission Leadership Seminar)
