JOB SUMMARY
The Moncrief Cancer Institute is seeking an experienced Construction Project Coordinator to lead construction, renovation, and facilities improvement projects at our Fort Worth campus. Working under minimal supervision, the construction project coordinator will manage the full lifecycle of project and program development while exercising independent judgment and authority to ensure all initiatives support a safe, patient-focused environment. This role requires a proactive leader to plan and coordinate new construction, remodels, and day-to-day facilities initiatives while maintaining rigorous documentation and progress reporting. By overseeing these complex building projects from inception to completion, you will play a critical role in optimizing the efficiency and safety of our clinical facilities.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
  • Education
    High School Diploma or GED equivalent or
    Vocational school
  • Experience
    5 years of experience in construction industry at journeyman level and
    2 years of experience at supervisory level.

JOB DUTIES
  • Develops construction schedule in conjunction with Production Control, Building Managers, and leadership . Ensures accordance with policy.
  • Reads and interprets architectural plans and contract documents. Develops estimates for materials needed and places orders accordingly.
  • Coordinates scheduling of various trades during construction phase. Knowledge of scheduling software preferred.
  • Inspects job site on on-going basis to ensure work is being performed in timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepares change orders and obtains approval from leadership.
  • Gives contractor tentative approval to proceed and then obtains final approval from Assistant Director as appropriate.
  • Acts as liaison with user to respond to concerns and obtains approval for any changes in plans or costs.
  • Prepares punch list, conducts final inspection, and reviews final billing upon completion of project.
  • Secures permits and inspections.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
