Type of Position: Full Time
Location: Las Vegas, NV Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 5pm - this is a hybrid position. T&TH in office.
Pay: $21 - $32 an hour

Job Description:
Our Senior Litigation Attorney is looking for a Legal Secretary to work in our Personal Injury Litigation Department. Candidates will be involved in all phases of litigation from complaint to settlement/trial.
Assists Attorney and other legal personnel of administrative and clerical work using knowledge of legal procedures.
 
Core duties and responsibilities include the following.
  • Track Statute of Limitation deadlines
  • Perform background research in preparation for filing complaints (TLO, DMV Research, Private Investigators, etc.)
  • Prepare ancillary documents to file complaints (Summons, Civil Case Cover Sheet, jury fees.
  • Send for service of all Defendants after filing comes back from court
  • Superior Court websites to obtain case/docket information
  • Manage team calendar
  • Schedule remote appearances and motion hearings for attorneys
  • Calendar and save mail.
  • Ensure that consistent naming system is followed when saving documents to files
  • Send various documents to clients for review and signature via DocuSign or courier service.
  • Mail out documents via USPS Mail and Certified Return Receipt as needed.
  • Maintain, organize and sort all files/send for shredding/closing files
  • Scanning documents/old files prepare for shredding.
  • Propound initial discovery on all Parties.
  • At the direction of attorneys, prepare and send supplemental discovery.
  • Escalate issues (motions) to the attorneys in litigation.
  • Send deposition transcripts to clients for review and signature.
  • Request electronic copy of deposition transcripts
  • When deposition transcripts come in, obtain digital copy of transcripts and save to file.
  • Provide status update to medical providers as needed (form/call).
  • Monthly Review cases to see if we got discovery responses and send letters to defense counsel following up on our initial discovery if no discovery responses are received.
  • Handle client relations and coordinate deposition/discovery completion dates with clients.
  • Assist litigation attorney with any necessary tasks.
Requirements:
  • Very well organized
  • Good and consistent follow up skills
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle large volume of cases and multiple cases at a time
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
  • Paralegal Certification is a plus
  • Knowledge of internet software, spreadsheet software and word processing software
  • Prior experience with Google Suite is a plus
