About the Role:


The Mail Courier Driver supports daily operations by transporting, picking up, and delivering mail and packages between federal government facilities, USPS locations, and other designated sites. This position ensures that all mail, including USPS, express packages, accountable mail, and interoffice correspondence, is handled securely, efficiently, and in compliance with federal procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safe operation of a cargo van and adherence to assigned routes and schedules
  • Collect and deliver mail from mail centers and designated locations on scheduled routes.
  • Ensure all mail is handled securely and in compliance with established security protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of all mail activity, including pickups, deliveries, and postage usage.
  • Ensure vehicles are operated safely, remain secure, and are never left unattended with mail inside.
  • Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding mail status, issues, or delays to support the efficiency of daily operations.
Requirements:


Citizenship and Background: Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a public trust clearance.


Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record


Education: High school diploma or equivalent


Experience: Experience in mail handling, courier services, or delivery operations preferred.


Required Skills and Abilities:
