What is user testing?

User testing is the process of evaluating a product, website, app, or service by having real users interact with it and provide feedback. The goal is to identify usability issues, understand user behavior, and improve the overall user experience. User testing can take various forms, such as moderated or unmoderated sessions, remote or in-person testing, and can include tasks, surveys, or interviews. The insights gained help designers and developers make informed decisions to enhance the product's effectiveness and satisfaction for its target audience.

How does a UserTesting professional typically collaborate with product teams during the development process?

UserTesting professionals work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to shape digital experiences based on real user feedback. They are often responsible for designing test scenarios, recruiting participants, and synthesizing insights to inform design decisions. Regular collaboration involves presenting findings in team meetings, providing actionable recommendations, and sometimes facilitating live observation sessions. This role requires strong communication skills and a proactive approach to ensure that user feedback is effectively integrated into the product development lifecycle.
