Job description

Overview
VTG is seeking a System Administrator in Pearl City, Hawaii.
What will you do?
Provide system administration, system integration, and application support for DFC mission systems to include Link Monitoring and Management Tool (LMMT), Command and Control Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC), Radiant Mercury, and Automated Identification System (AIS).
Serve as the technical point of contact on behalf of CPF to DFC mission system Program Offices.
Track systems asset lifecycles and plan, acquire, deploy, maintain, and retire assets in accordance to Program Office and CPF guidance.
Provide technical guidance, assist with troubleshooting complex issues, and training DFC technicians and staff as the customer and leadership deem necessary.
Collaborate with the N6 staff, Information Assurance (IA) coordinators, and network administrators to ensure system functionality and security compliance.
Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery testing.
Perform shift work as required to support N63 operations and exercise and contingency requirements.
Proficiency in administering Windows 10 / 11 and Red Hat Linux System operating systems
Understanding of core network protocols (TCP/IP), LANs/WANs, routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Implement and enforce system and security policies based on DoD standards, including STIGS and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Provide advanced troubleshooting and system performance monitoring (i.e. CPU, memory, disk I/O)
Knowledge in MOC, DFC Ops, Joint Range Application C/Link 16 Protocols.
Administer and maintain VMware virtual environments, including vCenter Server Appliances and ESXi hosts, to ensure stable operations.
Manage NetApp storage arrays, providing high-performance NFS services and efficient volume management to meet data-intensive needs.
Deploy and maintain Gigamon V-Series virtual taps to support comprehensive traffic monitoring and visibility within the virtual environment.
Maintain high availability through strategic VM migrations to mitigate maintenance impacts and ensure maximum system uptime.
Execute software lifecycle management by staying current with the latest versions of ONTAP, ESXi, Center, and VMware Tools.
Enforce cybersecurity compliance by applying DoD STIGs and ensuring successful weekly vulnerability scans across all managed systems.
Monitor and optimize system performance, pro-actively troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure alerts or bottlenecks.
Oversee access control by managing user accounts and permissions for both the virtual environment and NetApp storage arrays.
Facilitate environment growth by provisioning, importing, and configuring new virtual machines based on organizational requirements.
Implement disaster recovery protocols, ensuring routine backups and rapid restoration capabilities to maintain business continuity.
Manage technical procurement, including budgeting and renewing support and maintenance contracts for VMware and NetApp assets.
Do you have what it takes?
Final/active SECRET clearance at time of period of performance start.
Bachelor's degree with related experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or STEM, and two years of experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity. Comparable experience in lieu of degree.
Ability to lift, carry and setup servers and computers, as needed, for configurations.
At least five (5) years providing technical and direct support as Network Engineer supporting DOW network infrastructure.
At least five (5) years of experience with management of IT systems infrastructure and related processes.
At least one (1) year experience with Maritime Operation Centers and Data Fusion Centers
At least one (1) year experience with Joint Range Application C / Link 16 protocols
At least one (1) year experience with C2 system architecture.
At least twelve (12) months' experience with MS Office Products and other software such as Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Adobe Pro and Visio
Pay Range: VTG's estimated starting pay range is $90,000-140,000, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
