Job description

Responsibilities

The User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Designer is responsible for improving and evolving Atria’s established digital experiences across multiple brands. Working within existing brand identities and website platforms, this individual collaborates with strategy, creative, digital, and development partners to create intuitive, accessible and visually cohesive experiences that strengthen the customer journey and improve website performance.

  • Design engaging, intuitive and user-centered digital experiences within established brand identities and website frameworks.
  • Evaluate existing websites, information architecture, page hierarchy, navigation and content flow to identify opportunities to improve usability, visual quality, consistency and conversion.
  • Collaborate with brand managers, creative directors, copywriters, product owners, developers and digital performance partners to translate business, brand and customer needs into effective digital experiences.
  • Ensure website experiences connect visually and strategically with advertising, sales materials and other marketing touchpoints to create a cohesive customer journey.
  • Manage and evolve Figma libraries, master design files, global styles and digital design systems across Atria brands.
  • Create and maintain reusable components, variants, responsive behaviors, auto-layouts and usage guidance to support consistent implementation across desktop, tablet and mobile experiences.
  • Apply accessibility and usability best practices across typography, color, navigation, controls and interactions to ensure brand expression supports readability and ease of use.
  • Design experiences from early concepts, user flows and wireframes through high-fidelity responsive mockups and prototypes.
  • Use analytics, user behavior, heat maps, usability findings and other performance insights to inform design decisions and iterative improvements.
  • Partner with developers throughout implementation, providing clear specifications and guidance to ensure the final experience accurately reflects the approved design.
  • Proactively recommend visual, UX and design-system improvements that keep Atria’s websites current, polished and competitive.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities across several brands while maintaining consistent design quality and attention to detail.
  • Clearly communicate design recommendations and rationale to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay current on UI/UX best practices, accessibility standards, responsive design, competitor experiences and emerging digital technologies.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Three (3) or more years of professional experience in UI/UX design, digital product design, web design or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in visual design, graphic design, human-computer interaction, communications or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience, specialized training or relevant certification is acceptable.
  • Munst successfully complete all Atria specified training programs.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating polished responsive web experiences, thoughtful UX decision-making and effective application of established brand systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including experience maintaining design systems and libraries across multiple pages, products or brands.
  • Strong understanding of mobile-first, responsive web design, grid systems, interaction design, information architecture, accessibility standards, and user-centered design principles.
  • Familiarity with website analytics, behavioral data and usability insights and the ability to use that information to inform design decisions.
  • Experience collaborating with developers and preparing organized designs and documentation for development handoff.
  • Familiarity with content management systems such as Storyblok, WordPress or similar platforms, and a working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of organization and attention to detail.
  • Experience working within an agile product or development environment is a plus.
