Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time UI Developer to support our Cloud Services team. This is an intermediate role on our cloud team and will be responsible for the design, implementation, and testing of frontend user interfaces and desktop application components.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, and test responsive user interfaces written in React to interface with backend cloud APIs.

  • Package web-based frontends into lightweight, native desktop applications.

  • Collaborate closely with backend engineers to integrate UI components with Go-based orchestrators, Python scripts, and cloud services.

  • Leverage GitLab for version control, code reviews, and active participation in CI/CD pipeline workflows.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests for UI components to ensure application stability.

  • Actively communicate with the product owners and stakeholders to translate user feedback into actionable UI improvements.

  • Document frontend architecture, design patterns, and interface specifications for the broader engineering team.

  • Capacity to grow and develop new skills in response to emerging challenges.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen.

  • Must have a Secret Clearance.

  • 3+ years of experience developing, testing, and deploying production-ready web applications.

  • 2+ years of strong experience with React and modern frontend state management tools.

  • 2+ years of experience with Cloud technologies

  • Proficient with VSCode, including the effective use of extensions for debugging, linting, and formatting.

  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to bridge the gap between technical developers and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Excellent collaboration and project organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with React to deliver desktop applications.

  • Solid understanding of GitLab workflows, issue tracking, and automated frontend testing pipelines.

  • Familiarity with container-based environments (Docker) to ensure consistent local development setups.
