Job description

Title: Senior Product UI/UX Designer (World-Class A-Player) - Remote (Contractor)
Location: Remote - We do not work with timezones GMT+5 to GMT+7. Please do not apply if you live in those timezones. Preference for these timezones and areas: USA, Australia, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Romania

Fixed fee for short term contract: USD $1,500 (Contractor - paid via bank direct deposit)
Employment type: Contractor (fixed-price project)

Short-term elite contract - world-class design urgently required
We are seeking an exceptional product UI/UX designer to elevate our white-label health and medically inclined app ecosystem to a truly world-class product. You will take ownership of design strategy, ensure every screen and interaction is beautiful, functional and engaging, and provide daily direction to our internal design team. The role combines creative vision with hands-on execution: you will research leading apps, build a robust Figma design system using variables and design tokens, and coach our team of designers so we deliver an A-grade user experience across mobile, tablet and desktop. The aim is to design an app that people love so much they engage often, leading to better health outcomes and strong business returns.
Good design is not optional - studies show that every $1 invested in user experience returns $100 and that companies implementing top design practices grow twice as fast as their peers Gamification can further increase customer engagement by 47 % and loyalty by 22 %. We want a designer who understands the impact design has on retention, ROI and customer loyalty and can deliver experiences that keep users coming back.
Responsibilities
  • Lead design strategy and direction - Audit our existing app, identify weaknesses, and propose improvements using inspiration from top-performing health and consumer apps. Provide clear creative direction to the team via voice memos or screen recordings.
  • Refine a Figma design system using variables, tokens and components - Implement a structured design token hierarchy. Figma variables store reusable values for colours, spacing and typography and update all instances when changed. This centralisation improves flexibility, speed and consistency. You will ensure a semantic token structure is documented with naming conventions across design and development teams.
  • Multi-brand theming (white-label support) - Use Figma variables and tokens to support theme variations so that multiple brands can share a common design foundation. Modern workflows bridge design and engineering by exporting tokens to JSON and supporting multi-brand theming.
  • Glassmorphic and advanced UI techniques - Demonstrate expertise in glassmorphism visual design style. You'll leverage opacity, blur and gradientsto build modern, elegant UIs while maintaining accessibility.
  • Gamification and user engagement - Design reward systems, progress bars, checklists and other game-like elements to increase engagement and retention.
  • Cross-platform design - Ensure pixel-perfect, responsive UI for mobile, tablet and desktop are delivered. Maintain parity across form factors and ensure all experiences meet accessibility standards.
  • Mentor and coach - Provide daily guidance to the design team and collaborate with leadership on design reviews. Use voice memos or screenshare videos to communicate complex feedback clearly.
  • Research and trend analysis - Stay up-to-date with the latest design innovations in health and wellness, mobile interfaces and gamification. Analyse competitor apps and share actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with engineering - Work closely with PMs and developers to ensure designs are technically feasible and align with our white-label architecture.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Portfolio of world-class apps - Demonstrable experience designing applications that users love. Candidates must show mobile, tablet and desktop projects with strong UI/UX, measurable user engagement and ROI improvements.
  • Expert Figma skills - Mastery of variables, tokens, modes and design systems. Understand how variables can reference each other and update multiple properties at once and how tokens store indivisible design pieces like colours, spacing and typography. Experience exporting token sets for engineering integration.
  • Glassmorphism - Proficiency designing translucent UI with proper use of opacity, background blur and gradients.
  • Gamification - Proven ability to implement reward mechanisms, progression systems and feedback loops that drive engagement and retention.
  • Health and medicine domain experience - Familiarity with behavioural health, wellness or medical apps is preferred.
  • Time-zone requirements - Applicants must not be based in the GMT time-zones overlapping India and Pakistan. The role collaborates with teams in the America/Los Angeles time zone.
  • Communication - Strong written and verbal communication skills. Capable of providing concise voice notes or annotated design reviews for the team, in English.
