Job description

About Us

We're a fast-growing, privately held insurance company on a path to become a leading U.S. retail platform. We believe every client and customer relationship holds the potential to grow into something greater—and the same is true for our people. As we grow, we're modernizing how customers engage with our brand, products, and digital experiences while strengthening the systems that support consistency across every touchpoint. If you're energized by shaping brand experiences, building scalable design systems, and creating elegant user experiences that connect business goals with customer needs, you'll thrive here.

About the Role

We're looking for a Lead UX/UI Designer, Brand & Design Systems who brings deep expertise across user experience, digital product design, brand identity, and design-system development. This highly visible role is responsible for leading the redesign of our web experience while evolving our visual brand system across both digital and print channels. You'll serve as both a strategic design leader and a hands-on practitioner—guiding experience strategy, defining scalable design standards, and creating the critical assets needed for a successful website rebuild. From information architecture and user journeys to visual brand guidelines, motion standards, and component libraries, you'll ensure every interaction reflects a cohesive, modern, and customer-centric experience.

What You'll Do

Lead Website Experience Strategy & Design

  • Drive UX and UI design efforts for a comprehensive website redesign initiative
  • Define and refine site information architecture
  • Create user journeys, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction models
  • Design responsive page templates and key digital experiences
  • Translate business requirements, content strategies, and customer insights into intuitive experiences
  • Facilitate usability testing, design reviews, and iterative improvements
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Engineering, Content, and Executive stakeholders

Build & Govern the Digital Design System

  • Develop and maintain a scalable design system
  • Create and manage component libraries and reusable assets
  • Define typography, color systems, spacing, iconography, layouts and interaction patterns
  • Establish accessibility standards and usage documentation
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure implementation quality
  • Create governance processes for long-term adoption

Evolve the Brand Identity & Visual Guidelines

  • Lead evolution of visual identity across digital and print
  • Develop guidelines for logo usage, typography, colors, imagery, illustration, layout and motion
  • Create brand application examples across websites, presentations, marketing materials and documents
  • Ensure consistency across audiences, channels and journeys

Print & Cross-Channel Design

  • Create brochures, one-pagers, reports, event materials, signage and presentation templates
  • Establish print-ready layout systems and production specifications
  • Ensure consistency between digital, marketing and print collateral
  • Prepare vendor-ready files and production guidance

Motion & Interaction Design

  • Define page transitions, microinteractions, hover states, focus states, loading states and animations
  • Create motion principles that reinforce usability and brand expression
  • Document standards for designers and developers

Influence Design Strategy & Stakeholder Alignment

  • Lead stakeholder conversations and design decision making
  • Present concepts and recommendations to leadership
  • Champion customer-centered design practices

What You Bring

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in UX/UI design, brand identity development, and design systems
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating website redesigns, design systems, and brand guideline work
  • Experience creating information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity interfaces, and component libraries
  • Ability to create brand systems that scale across digital and print
  • Strong understanding of responsive design and accessibility best practices
  • Experience collaborating with developers and documenting design specifications
  • Excellent visual design skills including typography, layout, color, hierarchy, and composition
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate design workflows and implementation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading brand refreshes or visual identity transformations
  • Experience with large-scale website rebuilds or enterprise platforms
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, healthcare, professional services or regulated industries
  • Familiarity with design tokens and front-end implementation workflows
  • Experience with motion design tools and animation specifications
  • Print production knowledge including prepress, file setup, and vendor coordination

Core Competencies

  • User Experience Strategy
  • Design Systems Leadership
  • Brand Stewardship
  • Visual Design Excellence
  • Accessibility & Inclusive Design
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Adobe Creative Cloud including Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
  • Design-system documentation tools and workflows
  • PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote
  • FigJam, Miro, Jira, Confluence, Notion or similar
