Sr. Project Manager
Location: Orange, California (Partial Remote)
Role Overview
An opportunity is available for an organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will manage and deliver projects focused on the development and integration of functional system components. This role involves collaboration with program workstream leads, team members, and stakeholders to ensure all activities are accounted for and monitored. The position requires developing and monitoring project schedules and scope, facilitating communication, and driving the resolution of action items, issues, risks, and decisions. External website project support is critical for this role, so web app UX knowledge/experience is required. This is a matrixed role that demands leadership and diplomacy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project schedule, providing weekly updates.
  • Collaborate with various teams to gather deliverables, activities, and milestones to create realistic timelines.
  • Compile and present weekly status reports and conduct weekly status meetings.
  • Assess project progress, identify deviations from the schedule, and ensure all deliverables are accounted for in status reports.
  • Identify potential risks and issues, and implement risk response strategies and contingency plans.
  • Maintain the Program Risk Action Item, Issues, Decision (RAID) log.
  • Lead and mentor team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Manage change within the project, ensuring effective communication and smooth integration into ongoing activities.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Information Systems or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience as a Program or Project Manager, including experience with external Web App projects.
Technical Skills: A solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools is required, along with expert knowledge of MS-Project, Visio, and MS Office tools. External website project support is critical for this role, so web app UX knowledge/experience is required. An understanding of System Development Life Cycles is also necessary.
Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Health Plans organizations, processes, and finance.
  • Familiarity with the concept of Application Programming Interface (API).
