Responsibilities
Mortenson's Business Intelligence team is seeking an eager individual to fill the role of System Administrator Intern. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who wants to work as part of a skilled team to gain valuable experience with customer relationship management (CRM) system administration and best practices, specifically Salesforce.com. You'll gain an understanding of Mortenson's services and offerings and provide operational support for tracking customers, pursuit efforts, and sales pipeline reporting to maximize business performance.
Highlights of your time with this Mortenson internship will include:
  • Supporting marketing data maintenance efforts and administering processes to maintain data cleanliness going forward.

  • Assisting with user experience (UX) design & enhancements to optimize data capture on desktop and mobile applications.

  • Applying systems knowledge and skills to recommend process improvements.

  • Assisting with light CRM system design work to implement technical enhancements.

  • Drafting required technical documentation and associated training for new initiatives to ensure the integrity and successful use of implemented tools.

Our summer intern program (May - August 2027) is designed to give you real, hands-on experience from day one, working on meaningful projects that directly impact the business. You'll gain exposure to innovative work, build professional skills through development opportunities, and be supported by a team that values your growth. Your ideas matter here, and you'll have the chance to contribute, learn, and make a difference while exploring your career path.
Required Qualifications:
Cultivate your skills in your chosen field of study and build your career with Mortenson. We look forward to hearing from you if you:
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Marketing Technology, Information Systems, or other related degree

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Have previous related internship experience

  • Are currently enrolled as an undergraduate junior

  • Have a basic understanding of construction and generally accepted business practices

  • Have experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel (vlookups, IF statements) and PowerBI, and PowerPoint

  • Have experience working in CRM systems, specifically Salesforce.com

  • Demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills and show initiative and leadership

  • Showcase a positive and professional attitude and solid customer service skills

  • Are detail-oriented, organized, and can effectively handle multiple competing priorities

The hourly wage for college Interns starts at $18. Students may be paid higher wages based on their year in school.
