Job description

Want to transform how Alexa makes every day life easier and more enjoyable for customers? The Alexa Daily Essentials and Connections Design team is seeking a Senior User Experience Designer to create experiences that leverage the power of Alexa across Echo devices, Alexa mobile app, Alexa.com, and other device surfaces. This role will be focused on designing how Alexa can help customers stay connected with friends and family through calling, messaging, or sharing content. You may also work on features to improve daily productivity like calendar, alarms, timers, reminders, lists, or file upload. You will work side-by-side with conversation designers, user researchers, product, and engineering to identify, define, and implement solutions that raise the bar on the Alexa customer experience. You must excel at communicating your designs effectively to the larger team and driving that vision into solid design deliverables. We're looking for people who are passionate about innovating on behalf of customers, demonstrate a high degree of ownership, and want to have fun while they make history.
Key job responsibilities
- Create world-class, user-centered designs through consideration of market research, customer needs, business requirements, and usability study findings.
- Demonstrate leadership in driving design processes into the organization that help refine strategy.
- Translate business requirements into use cases and high-level customer experience requirements.
- Design the architecture, interface, and interaction flow of touch screens, voice experiences, mobile applications, and web screens.
- Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes
- Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications
- Present design work to the user experience team, product team, and leadership for review and feedback.
- Work with our usability and data science teams to assess and optimize new and existing features.
- Develop high level, long-term strategy for Alexa Daily Essentials and Connections products.
- Collaborate with other design team members on Alexa Domain experiences, frameworks, process, and best practices.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience with Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or their functional equivalents
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with UX design of complex workflows
- Experience designing for AI/ML-powered products, including conversational interfaces, recommendation systems, generative AI tools, or intelligent automation features.
- Ability to extract complex concepts and quickly turn around rigorous flows and mockups reflecting a range of options.
- Create high-fidelity vision designs and interactive prototypes that demonstrate how AI-powered, context-aware capabilities can elevate customer experiences across voice-first devices.
- Identify strategic opportunities through landscape analysis and stakeholder research, and develop experience frameworks that inform product roadmaps.
