Job description

Position Summary

Designs simple to moderately complex new systems and adapts existing systems for ESMU. Drafts and adapts existing engineered systems modules from data provided by supervisors, fields sales engineering and end users to meet customer specifications, quality standards and targeted efficiency levels.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in engineering or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in 3D Modelling and AutoCAD 2D is required.
  • Problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, analytical skills.
  • Experience within metal fabrication industry and ASME Code preferred.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Project and Excel.
  • Good interpersonal and communication / influencing skills, including report writing and presentation abilities
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Proactive, positive, and optimistic "can do" attitude, calmness under pressure
  • Teamwork & development of effective business networks
  • New Product Introduction / Development for bespoke goods
Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepares drawing sets for custom and standard modules and submits modifications as instructed.
  • Provides fabrications models and details to the fabrication team for execution.
  • Create Bill of Materials (BOMs) in ERP.
Other Job Functions
  • Communicates with end-user customers and sales reps to confirm final package design specifications, special requirements and delivery of drawings to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Using independent judgment takes moderately complex orders from customers and creates/designs solutions to meet their specifications.
  • Manages special projects as needed and requested.
  • Serves as technical support for customers and vendors relating to simple or moderately complex issues/situations.
  • Maintain and manage all files created within the PDM system.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to existing designs, systems or processes.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) events as required.

Accountable and responsible for all safety and environmental compliance as it relates to the position. Demonstrates knowledge of general safety, security, and environmental regulations
