Join our Team as a Mechanical Design Engineering Co-Op!
The Role:
We're seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineering Co-Op to join our team in Summer and/or Fall 2027! This co-op hands-on experience in where you'll work on meaningful projects and gain insight into the design, analysis, and testing of cutting-edge mechanical systems that power the future mobility - including lithium-ion batteries and hydrogen fuel cells. You'll collaborate with the Rochester Development Center team, as well as mentors and leadership, building skills that will help launch your career!
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for advanced energy solutions.
  • Perform hands-on system troubleshooting on test benches, in R&D labs, and during vehicle-level integration testing.
  • Analyze test data, extract insights, and generate technical documentation and test reports.
  • Use mechanical and thermal modeling to guide design improvements in battery and fuel cell technologies.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to reduce production costs and improve quality.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Manufacturing, Reliability, and Test Engineering to create robust, manufactural designs.
  • Present design concepts and test results clearly to diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to the deployment of your solutions into real-world industrial vehicles and energy systems.

What We're Looking For:
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical Software Engineering
  • Current academic year entering Junior or Senior year BS, or Master's any year
  • Available to be onsite at our Rochester, NY location in Summer 2027 and/or Fall 2027
