Position: Psychiatrist (Multiple Positions)

Location: MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC
MedStar Medical Group II, LLC d/b/a MedStar Medical Group has multiple openings for the full-time position of Psychiatrist based at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.
Job Duties:
Provide outpatient psychiatric care within the hospital setting, including admitting patients, performing psychiatric exams and evaluations, ordering and conducting tests, diagnosing, performing hospital rounds and planning for discharge. Participate in call schedule. Facilitate coordination and development of a comprehensive and individual plan of care in collaboration with patient, family and multidisciplinary team. Prepare written prescription orders, medications and controlled substances compliant with DC and federal rules, regulations and laws. Coordinate family education with nursing staff, ancillary staff and other resources. Receive outpatient referrals from Primary Care Center and/or other Departments. Provide support and expert assessment to our critical care medicine, internal medicine, primary care, and other specialist physicians in the overall delivery of care. Maintain progress notes using established guidelines, follow all established all HIMS policies for maintenance and signing of medical records.
Requirements:
Position requires a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree or foreign equivalent required.
Position requires completion of 48 months of ABPM-recognized and ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency Program & 12 months of ABPN-recognized and ACGME-accredited Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship Program. Position requires license to practice medicine in the District of Columbia, American Board Certification in Psychiatry, American Board Certification (or eligibility) in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
