Job description

Job Description CrossBoundary is recruiting a full time Chief Administrative Officer to manage human resources, accounting, contract and grant compliance, and shape the administrative backbone of our firm. The CAO will be based in our Washington, DC office. We are seeking highly motivated candidates with previous experience who are capable of succeeding in unique and challenging environments.

CrossBoundary has a unique blend of administrative requirements. The ideal candidate would have experience in a senior administrative role inside a private investment firm as well as experience dealing with federal government and/or USAID contracts and grants. Although they will have accounting support, the CAO should also have the basic skillset of a CFO.

CrossBoundary operates in challenging markets that also hold immense opportunities. The chosen candidate will be a part of a unique team with the opportunity to have significant impact in these frontier markets. Primary Responsibilities Financial management - monitor company's finances and ensure appropriate accounting through our cloud-based Deltek system; monitor tax compliance and the unique compliance requirements of an investment advisory firm.

Contract/Award management - manage compliance and reporting, monitor budgets and expenditures, support audits as required. Human resources - maintain company's suite of benefits, respond to employee concerns, monitor timekeeping, and conduct new hire onboarding. Business origination - support preparation of bid responses and proposals that meet client requirements; actively seek and position company for new business.

Required Skills and Qualifications Enthusiasm for building robust administrative, compliance, HR, and accounting functions in a young and entrepreneurial firm focused on frontier markets. Absolute attention to detail and willingness to accept final responsibility for all administrative requirements. Experience in a government contracting environment, preferably with USAID contracts and grants.

Experience in a private sector firm, preferably in finance. Comprehensive knowledge of FAR, CFR, AIDAR, and federal reporting requirements. BA/BS degree required, advanced degrees regarded very favorably.
