Job description

Position Summary...Are you passionate about building well-governed, cost-efficient cloud platforms that balance financial accountability, security, and operational excellence? Join the Walmart/VIZIO Team as a Cloud FinOps & Infrastructure Automation Engineer, where you will play a critical role in multi-cloud migration from AWS to both GCP and Azure, cost optimization, infrastructure automation, and security remediation. This role leans slightly toward FinOps leadership, while remaining deeply hands-on across Infrastructure as Code, automation, and SecOps. You'll be a trusted practitioner and advisor who brings discipline, best practices, and thoughtful engineering to everything you build. What you'll do...About the TeamThe Walmart/VIZIO Team operates at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, financial governance, and operational reliability. We support large-scale, multi-cloud environments by driving cost transparency, enforcing best practices, automating repetitive work, and enabling secure, scalable cloud migrations. Our team partners closely with Engineering, Finance, Security, and Platform teams to ensure cloud environments are efficient, secure, and built to last. This role consolidates responsibilities historically owned across FinOps engineering, infrastructure automation, and security remediation into a single senior-level position with broad impact. What You'll DoFinOps & Cost Governance (Primary Focus)
  • Design and implement automated FinOps solutions to optimize cloud spend across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Build and maintain cost allocation, tagging enforcement, and usage governance frameworks across multiple clouds.
  • Develop automation for savings analysis, rightsizing, idle resource detection, and anomaly identification across providers.
  • Partner with Finance and Engineering teams to translate technical usage into actionable financial insights and forecasts.
Cloud Migration & Multi-Cloud Platform Engineering
  • Support and execute cloud migration initiatives from AWS to GCP and Azure, including workload analysis, readiness assessment, migration planning, and post-migration optimization.
  • Compare cloud-native services and pricing models to guide migration decisions and architectural tradeoffs.
  • Apply best-practice multi-cloud architectures with an emphasis on cost efficiency, security, and operational sustainability.
  • Help define standards, landing zones, and reference architectures for AWS, GCP, and Azure.
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
  • Build and maintain scalable Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt across multiple cloud providers.
  • Develop Python and Bash automation for operational workflows, governance, migrations, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tooling.
  • Improve developer and operator experience through reusable modules, guardrails, and standardized patterns.
Security & Compliance (SecOps)
  • Partner with Security teams to remediate cloud security findings through automation and IaC changes.
  • Enforce security best practices across AWS, GCP, and Azure, including least privilege IAM, secure networking, and configuration baselines.
  • Ensure infrastructure changes meet internal compliance, audit, and security standards during and after migrations.
Operational Excellence & Best Practices
  • Champion cloud, security, and FinOps best practices across a growing multi-cloud footprint.
  • Reduce toil through automation and eliminate manual, error-prone processes.
  • Produce clear documentation, runbooks, and standards that enable long-term maintainability.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and reviewer, raising the overall quality bar of infrastructure and automation changes.
What You'll Bring
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS, plus meaningful experience with GCP and/or Azure, ideally in migration contexts.
  • Proven experience in FinOps engineering, cloud cost optimization, and financial governance across multiple providers.
  • Deep expertise with Terraform, and practical experience with Terragrunt for multi-environment and multi-cloud management.
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash for operational automation, tooling, and migration support.
  • Experience supporting or leading AWS GCP and/or Azure migrations.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles and SecOps workflows across providers.
  • A strong engineering mindset with deep respect for best practices, standards, and maintainability.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Finance, Security, and Engineering stakeholders.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics simply.
  • A proactive, ownership-driven approach to solving ambiguous, high-impact problems.
Why This Role MattersThis role is foundational to Walmart/VIZIO's multi-cloud future. You'll help ensure that our infrastructure is financially responsible, secure, automated, and portable across AWS, GCP, and Azure-while setting the standards that teams rely on for years to come. If you care deeply about doing things the right way-and helping others do the same-this role gives you both the mandate and the platform to make a lasting impact.
