Job description

Fabrication Design Engineer

Are you a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and bringing custom designs to life? We’re looking for a talented Fabrication Design Engineer to join our team and help develop innovative fabricated assemblies and engineered spray systems used in demanding industrial applications.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with customers, manufacturing teams, quality specialists, and cross-functional engineering groups to design high-performance solutions that balance functionality, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.

What You’ll Do

· Design and develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed fabrication drawings for custom engineered spray systems and fabricated equipment

· Translate customer specifications and application requirements into practical, manufacturable designs

· Optimize products for fit, form, function, quality, and cost efficiency

· Perform engineering evaluations, calculations, and analyses to improve product performance and reliability

· Support manufacturing processes including CNC machining, welding, investment casting, and metal fabrication

· Maintain accurate engineering documentation including drawings, technical justifications, BOMs, and process records

· Review peer designs and documentation for accuracy, manufacturability, and continuous improvement opportunities

· Partner with Quality teams to investigate non-conformances, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions

· Communicate technical requirements and limitations effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders

· Collaborate closely with Sales, Applications Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, and Quality teams to solve complex spray process challenges

What We’re Looking For

· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop creative, practical engineering solutions

· Experience with 3D CAD software; Autodesk Inventor experience preferred

· Knowledge of fluid dynamics and metal fabrication manufacturing processes

· Ability to perform engineering calculations and apply findings toward product optimization

· Familiarity with fabrication and pressure vessel design standards such as ASME B31.3, B31.1, BPVC Section VIII-1, and vortex shedding analysis (ASME PTC 19.3)

· Strong understanding of engineering best practices and design for manufacturability

· Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

· Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field

3–5 years of experience in design engineering

Experience with common fabrication techniques and manufacturing processes

Familiarity with metalworking tools and precision measuring equipment

Experience with investment cast molds is a plus

Pay range

$70,000 - $82,000 / annualized
